A man who was electrocuted after climbing to the top of a 10m utility pole and touching the lines above has survived after his legs tangled with the structure, saving him from a fatal fall.
The Chinese man, who is believed to be mentally ill, scaled the post before coming into contact with the charged metal wires being supported.
Witnesses say they heard loud bangs as the helpless victim's body was shocked.

But after surviving the jolt, the 28-year-old was
spared the fall which surely would have killed him when his convulsing
leg wrapped and around the wooden post and left him dangling.Luckily emergency services in Huian County, southeast China's Fujian Province, where the incident took place, where on hand to bring the man down and treat him.
One witness who saw the incident, said: 'I was walking past the pole, and suddenly heard 'pang pang' sounds like fire crackers.

'I was terrified when I looked up, as a man was hanging upside down.'Local power company workers and firefighters joined forces to rescue the man.
The power company said the cables were 10KW, with one worker commenting: 'The man is really lucky to not be killed.'
